I love the yellow walls. Why? I am legally blind. It's a matter of practicality, not aesthetics. It's easier for me to see. So, that really eliminates me as a judge.
But here's my question: Do you like the yellow walls? Can you imagine them on every track? How about other colors? Really just curious...

I haven't decided whether I like Humpy's latest idea of a burnout competition or not. I guess it all depends on the way it gets set up and executed. It may be cooll; it may end up lame. Anyway, here are the participants for Saturday night's burnout duel:
#48 Jimmie Johnson
#16 Greg Biffle
#07 Clint Bowyer
#29 Kevin Harvick
#18 Kyle Busch
Two questions:
1. Who do you think will win?
2. Does anyone know if these cars have to go through any kind of "pre-race inspection" beforehand (I just envision Harvick jacking around all kinds of weight and using special gears and stuff).
I think it will come down to Harvick and Busch. I pick Busch because he's won everything else so far...
Time to revisit our farewells and kudos for one Dale Jarrett, as he will be donning the firesuit for the final time Saturday night at the Sprint All Star Race.
For me, as I have stated before, I think his ability as a BIG race winner has often been overlooked, and he rightfully belongs among the very best. When the big trophies are on the line he was one of those you had to beat. I look forward to watching the next phase of his career in the broadcasting booth unfold...

Man, for the first year in a long time, I am so looking forward to the All-Star race! Format changes, fans voting in drivers, last chance races... who cares! This year, all of that manipulation and marketing crap means nothing. We got Kyle Busch coming into Charlotte red hot, and Junior Nation ready and willing to let him know how much they hate him! That is better than donuts or flaming buses any day!
So get out your cameras and set up your DVRs and watch it as these two make Humpy Wheeler's job easy for him... Lord, help us all if it comes down to these two in the end!
Here's hoping it does!

It's not how Kyle Busch gives an interview, or comes across on television.
It's that I say to myself: "That is how I would drive a race car."
X:)
Not to belabor the point too much, but for those who seem to take exception to the comparisons between Kyle Busch's driving style and Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s, here's a bit from Little E himself:
“On the racetrack, there may be some comparisons there,” Earnhardt Jr. said Thursday. “He’s fast. He’s running well. He’s quick. He’s aggressive.”
“That’s the way dad raced and Kyle has that same style,” Earnhardt Jr. continued. “Very aggressive.”
Of course, coming from Jr. , I don't know if that is necessarily a compliment. He has said previously that he thought his daddy's racing style was too agressive at times...
X:)
Imagine for a moment if Dale Earnhardt Jr. was driving with the agression and assertiveness of Kyle Busch. Would they call him a jerk, or say he was a chip off the old block?

Hi all... been busy and all that (new movie coming out, you know), but I saw something on Jayski and had to chime in.
So, what did ol' Racer X tell you all back a couple of months ago? Racing, specifically NASCAR, needs to be at the forefront of alternative fuel development. I was scoffed at, with my crazy idea about making NASCAR a platform for a green, low emission-driven "fuel war". Now, an athority no less than Chevy is floating the idea of NASCAR going green. Makes sense in every way. Read:
~~~~~
Chevy pushing for alternative fuels in NASCAR
Chevrolet is continuing its effort to have NASCAR make alternative fuels a priority. “We’re pushing hard – we probably are the instigators a little bit,” Chevrolet Vice President Brett Dewar said during the Texas race weekend. “We believe in green racing, and we believe it is very appropriate to do that … We believe it’s time. We think racing can also be green, and we would like it to be biofuels.” NASCAR executives have indicated that alternative fuels are a priority. “They’re definitely receptive,” Dewar said about NASCAR. “They’ve got fuel providers, and it’s a transition, and I don’t want to mitigate the fact that some work has to get done. There’s modifications to the engines, but we do it to our vehicles today. … We have to reduce our dependency on petroleum products. We just have to. Economically we need to do it, and we’re willing to do it.” General Motors is building cars that can be run on alternative fuels as well as electric vehicles. Dewar said the chairman of General Motors has been among those who has talked with NASCAR officials about alternative fuels. Could that happen in two or three years? “It could be sooner if we all rode together and worked together,” Dewar said. “It’s just a matter of bringing each other [together]. We’re going to meet with them soon to see how their development is coming. but we’re invited to this party. We’re proud to be a member with them from the beginning, General Motors with NASCAR, and we’re very supportive of that. We have to make good decisions.”(
..FINALLY! All that bad mojo evaporated and Kyle Busch found his way into a Nationwide Series victory lane. The way his cars have run there this year, it was simply a matter of time. Now let's see what tomrrow brings.
BTW, I just loved the paint scheme on Junior's GoDaddy.com ride... real sharp...
Michael McDowell would have been dead 10 years ago in a hit like the one he took today in qualifying. He may have been pretty bad a year ago.
All I can say is for all of the questions about the COT, this wreck alone proves its worth. Completely.
I am a believer, wholeheartedly. As is Michael McDowell, I'm sure.
And, as I also remind myself, Dale Sr. saved another one....
