5 dead after small plane hits Fla. homes
SANFORD, Fla. - A small plane carrying the husband of a NASCAR executive crashed into two houses while trying to make an emergency landing Tuesday, killing five people and starting fires that seriously burned three others, authorities said.
NASCAR confirmed that Dr. Bruce Kennedy, a Daytona Beach plastic surgeon and husband of International Speedway Corporation President Lesa France Kennedy, and NASCAR Aviation pilot Michael Klemm were among the dead.
The identities of the other victims on the ground were not immediately released.
Authorities said an adult and two children died in the homes that caught fire when the airplane crashed in the suburban Orlando neighborhood Tuesday morning.

It has become clear today that Hendrick Motorsports will not appeal their penalties from NASCAR that occurred at Sonoma this pas t weekend. Both the 24 and 48 teams received identical consequences to the 8 team for modifying the COT. All three judgments of suspensions, point deductions and fines have been called excessive by the teams affected, and I agree.
I think NASCAR has made one simple document with checkboxes of the three consequences, and all that is needed is the team and crew chief names. For example, Kurt Busch, who endangered someone's life, only got two of the three predetermined outcomes. Perhaps Johnson and Gordon should have endangered someone's life to lessen the severity of their penalties. For example they could have set up an old west gun fight on pit road complete with blowing tumbleweeds. The resulting gunshots at each other may have negated the third checkbox on NASCAR's list, keeping Knaus and Letarte from being benched.
Nascar Images screws up the spelling of Jimmie's name in his Championship DVD.
I think it would be great if Junior comes to Hendrick. It's a great program that will get him in contention for the cup. Plus I've always liked him and would enjoy to cheering for him has a teammate to Jimmie.
Wes, I'm sorry if Superman is having to join the Legion of Doom. But they do have cookies in the break room and Skeletor is nice one you get to know him.
"... he [Kyle] has to prove himself as good as three former champions and he must get whatever attention he can grab..."
Sitting in Turn 2 at Lowe's this past Saturday night, as Kyle's machine came to a smoking halt in front of me, I finally understood the younger Busch brother. As the sparks died out, a light came on for me. I understand why he's always expressing his opinion, wrecking his car and wearing those gosh awful sunglasses. Kyle is suffering from the "other brother syndrome."
Kyle is a very talented driver and will be for years, if he can overcome his self-perception of being second best. I think we all know that Kyle's worst enemy is himself, and here is the reason. He has always been Kurt's little brother and it doesn't help that big brother is a NEXTEL Cup Champion. (Remember Kurt won the cup in 2004. Yea, I forget too.) So in his personal life he's always had to measure up to Kurt.
So following older brother Kurt into NASCAR, Kyle finds himself in the House of Hendrick. Kyle has done a good job of making himself known, but again he's still the little brother, even at the office. Just 100 yards away from Kyle's shop is another, this one containing Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Both drivers are champions and probably will be again.
This leaves poor Kyle with two nagging issues; he has to prove himself as good as three former champions and he must get whatever attention he can grab. Much as a child flails his arms about screaming for attention, Kyle has the same goal. This is why we sometimes see Kyle try too hard, make unwise decisions and erupt on occasion. Kyle is trying to establish is own NASCAR identity and is highly motivated to have it immediately. Kyle needs to find an understanding of who he is in this sport before he can truly become a consistent driver or a champion.
I have a Uniden BC92XLT scanner and I have a consistent issue with it. I've taken it to several races and randomly it will switch from the channel I'm on to the UHF frequency. I don't have the handset set to scan or search, it's locked in and switches on its own. Is there anyway to keep this from happening?
