Finally after a 43 race drought, Tony Stewart pulled the Subway Toyota into Talladega Victory Circle. I was so happy it reminded me lots of the happiness and pride I felt a month ago when my oldest daughter got her first job.My happiness was short lived, my daughter was fired. I wasn't quite sure how to feel sitting there watching Tony, Zippy and Crew all dancing around spraying each others Subway Uniforms while she cried on my shoulder, the manager said she was too slow that she couldn't keep up with the other employees. I was torn, how can Subway go from bringing me so much happiness and then break my little girls heart ? Oh well maybe she can get a job at Home Depot....
We were always told, No such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.. he wont be Kurt Busch status but Kevin is definitely on my short list for awhile
So I had just gotten the cork back in my bottle of champagne, just in time to see Tony's Post Race comments. I am still in kind of a denial about the whole affair. First of all he took the blame then he apolgized ! I am so confused, anger management kicks in after 4 or 5 years ? I cant help but wonder if NASCAR came down on Tony about the Goodyear, but then my understanding was they were gonna let the drivers have personalities ?
I know alot of people are really down on Tony's comments on the Goodyear tire fiasco. Maybe the comments were too harsh and granted he did finish fairly well. I think though they will have the desired result and hopefully Goodyear will look at the tires a little more before they decide which type they want to send to a particular track. I feel like it needed to be said after the hard hits drivers took in Las Vegas from blown tires. I do hope that he lets it go on his Tuesday night show, but I don't think that would be Tony Stewart...
I just picked up a real good book I thought the Rowdy crowd might like to check out. One Helluva a Ride, How NASCAR Swept a Nation by Liz Clarke. The book is great I have really enjoyed it.
I did enjoy Daytona this year, I thought it was a good race not great. It didn't seem to me that as many drivers were able to compete on the same level as everyone else. There was a lot of slicing and dicing up front and FOX coverage wasn't bad the gopher cam graphic did scream cheese. Now my rant I didn't want to like Kyle, never liked Kurt and I didn't think the berry fell very far from the.... anyway you know where I am going with that. I decided this weekend he could be alright for JGR He played well with others this weekend and if he keeps it up I might buy an M&M 18 Diecast.
another season, I'm so excited. Alot to look forward to this season. I'm still not sure about Toyota but I believe if anyone can drive a toyota into Victory Lane Stewart can. I would love to have like a 5 minute conversation with him. Probably nothing anyone else hasn't pointed out to him, but I would just like to remind him temper temper. Stewart won his Championships by ignoring the b.s. around him and concentrating on the positive and letting the negative go. I think 2008 is your year !
What seemed like a beautiful night in Daytona,Florida turned ugly very quickly. Hurricane Tony touched down about Lap 14. Laying waste to everything he could reach on the track, he turned his energy to the garage area. The hot air and tears made for some of the worst high winds and flash flooding I had ever seen at a track. there was nothing Denny could do he was square path of the vicious storm. Hamlin seemed to recover fairly quickly, he didn't seem to suffer any longterm injury from picking his jaw up off the ground.
So I Googled teamwork and Tony's name wasn't anywhere to be found there either. I hate to make excuses, but thats what people do for there favorite driver. It's been a tough year so far, #20 crew can't seem close anything out, not so many mistakes but more just poor dumb luck. I hope Smoke can get back to his attitude before his second championship and I hope he will make peace with all those affected by his emotional storm.
Looks like Toyota is moving up, Congratulations Dave"the buckeye bullet"Blaney. Will make for an exciting race, especially if he manages to stay up front. Be pretty monumental not to have a chevy in victory circle this weekend, although it seems unlikely. I am expecting Tony to have a real good weekend and even without crew chiefs jimmie johnson already proved he can still win and Dale jr. is just itching to win a race.
Been on vacation but couldnt wait to get back and post
