Introduced to the sport as a result of marketing/sponsorship work I did for a friend in the mid-80s. The sounds, the sights, the smell!!! How can you not be a fan?

NASCAR makes the rules, and they enforced 'em yesterday - but I don't agree with their ruling. It sure looked to me like Smoke forced the #01 below the yellow line...but...then again, I'm not in the press box making the call...and, if you listened carefully to Jimmy Spencer after the race, it sure did appear the crew chiefs over inflated several of the tires that "failed" during the race. Interesting how after the accidents piled up, along with scrapped sheet metal, the tires behaved later in the race. I was also a bit troubled how the broadcasters were quick to find a Goodyear official to "explain" why the tires were coming apart. It certainly was no Brickyard...and If I'm someone like Denny Hamlin...I'm pretty upset with my crew chief for sending me to the hospital.
