Who Am I:
I'm a private duty nurse, i love to help others as much as i can. I am loaded with medical info. that a lot of people don't know about. I also do motorcyle shows and i do leather work. I have been doing it for over 20 years. I don't get to ride as much as i would lik to do to my work hours. But when i do ride i have a blast. Strange things happen there even at bike rallies. A few years back i was set up there & they had Clearance Carter followed by Paul Revere & the Radiers. I closed to listen to the music but i had a Cop knocking at my door. It turned out that Paul Revere was refusing to go on stage because he broke his hat. Yes i had to take needle & thread & sew it back together for him. I missed almost all of Clearance Carter except for Strokin' . But all worked out ok and the show went on. It never fails strange things happen at that speedway with me. So take care & ride safe, Lou Anne

Everyone who owns or wears leather, These are the Do's & Don'ts of Leather Care

Hello everyone, As you know i do leather repair. I make items, as well as repair them. These are the things i know & i pass onto everyone i do work for. I look at it this way, what saves you money in a big repair bill saves me the time of repairing it. So here you go.
DO NOT Use MINK OIL on your leathers. I know that a lot of people who sell you leather will give you a free bottle of Mink oil and they will tell you to use it on your leathers. But think about this and think why they are giving you that bottle " for free ". I have been doing leather work since 1976 no joke. Yes i talk to everyone i do work for and i ask them what did they use on there leather when they bring it to me. Almost everyone ( 99 % ) tell me Mink oil, and the other 1% tell me nothing at all. If you use nothing on the leather you will get dry rott.
What i have seen that Mink oil does is hard to put into words but i will do my best for you all. I have seen entire arm sleeves falling apart but just hanging on by a single thread. I sew with what is called a ( Star 69 Nylon thread ). This stuff is so strong that if you were to wrap it around your hand a few times and try to brack it , the thread would win and would cut your hand instead. But i have seen Mink oil eat away at the Star 69 Nylon thread as well. That is how bad mink oil is.
Please DO OIL YOUR LEATHERS. As i said above throw the Mink oil away. But use one of these products as they will not hurt your leather. Saddle Soap, Neatsfoot Oil, or even Care4. After you have oiled down your leather please put a drop of oil on your snaps & snap them together. You see the oil will prevent rusting & a repair bill on you.
Note on Snaps; There are many types of snaps that can be replaced. First off there is a baby dot snap, a line 20, as well as a line 24 snap can all be replaced. I also carry the buffalo head nickel snaps. However if you own a Harley leather i hate to tell you this but i'll be honest with you. Harley has there own type of snaps & get this. They will sell you the replacement snap but not the snap setter to attach it back to your leather. That is sad. As a person who has to deal with Harley at times i have asked them why not sell the setter? No one will give me an answer.
Please Do Zip up all metal zippers & get you some wax, yes as in bees wax or a candle. Then wax them zippers down really good. No i'm not crazy & this is why you must wax down metal zippers. After you are done waxing them down then you can do 1 of 2 things with the leather. first , you can put it in the sun so the sun will melt the wax on the zippers, or second take a hair drier to the zippers & get the wax melted into the teeth verry good. You see the wax will make the zipper pull slide easier for you and the teeth will not come out of the zipper as well. Look at your arm sleeve zippers. Did you know i can replace the square stops on the top of the zipper as well as the big square bottom stop, and the zipper pull. But once those teeth are shot the zipper is trash. This is why you have to wax metal zippers.
Note Plastic & Nylon zippers, Once they start to go your better off replacing them with a good metal zipper.
And for those of you who wear the zig-zag or patch work leather. And i'm talking the kind Wal-mart sells. I hate to tell you this but it is true. Take a piece of Masking tape & make it into a ball so you can get a finger or two in it. Make sure the sticky side of the tape is facing you when you make a ball out of it. Now go get your "leather" & take the tape to the inside of the leather like where the seams were sewn for the snaps on a vest or on the inside flap of the jacket at the far bottom. Put the tape on it & roll it across it slowly. I hate to tell you this but the color of the " leather " will come up if it is a cheaply made leather and there is nothing that can be done to repair it except for try to find a piece of vinal yes it is vinal not leather that matches it good & replace the piece. This is why i hate those "leathers". You see if i sew on a patch i put masking tape under the patch to hold it down & that is what happens but i tell the person it will happen ahead of time. This way if they ever take off the patch you already know what it will look like.
Take care & ride safe, Lou Anne

How to get Free Medical care
This is so important about getting free medical care if you don't have the $$ to pay for it.
The first thing you need to do is go into the ER & look for a sign that states " We can not refuse to see you due to you not being able to pay " If you see that sign in the ER, then for sure that is the place you need to go to if you have a medical problem & can't pay the bill. Also if the Dr. wrights you out a script & you need to get it filled & can't pay for it, go to the hospitals drug store & get it filled there.
The reason why that sign is in the ER is because the hospital had gotten monies under " The Hillburton Act of 1974". Yes our gov. has done a few things right. In 1974 they passed into law the Hillburton Act which gave any hospital & nursing homes Federal monies to take care of people who could not afford to pay. Our gov. did away with the Hillburton Act some years ago but when they did away with it they also wrote into law that anyone who got monies under the hillburton act must
1) post that sign
2) must still see people who can't pay
3) they " the hospital's & nursing homes" can also use it as a tax deduction. This is what you have to do if you can not pay your bill.
1) You will get a bill from the hospital but don't sweat it. You will need the bill before you can do anything.
2) get all of your income & bills together
3) Take the hospital bill & all other bills as well as your income to the hospital Billing Dept.
4) This is where you will sit down with a worker & explain to them that you can not pay the bill because of your other bills.
5) This is where they can & will wright the bill off.
NOTE: If you get a script from the Dr. at the hospital as well take the script to there drug store & they must fill them for you as well under the Hillburton Act.
I know this because my mother is in the hospital & nursing home administration field, my aunt teaches nursing & i'm also a nurse as well.
The reason why this is not well known is because the hospitals would be in the red alot. That is why they don't talk about it. Good luck. I hope it helps out.

Another way to get FREE medical care if you have an ongoing medical problem.
The national institute of health in MD. is a federal hospital and will treat everyone who goes there. All you need is a doctors referal to go to N.I.H. You will be put on a waiting list then they will call you and tell you when you need to be there. If you can't get there they will fly you there & back as well. Upon leaving N.I.H. you will be sent home with 6 months of FREE Meds as well. Some of N.I.H. phone numbers are below. will not effect the parents checks but it will also give the child medicaid as well.
All i can do is give you the honest facts as i know them.If you need any medical phone numbers as well, please let me know as i have alot of them to. Lou Anne
-----------------If you have your Dr. call any of these numbers they are all part of N.I.H. and they can get you to the main switch board. They can provide you 6 months of free meds. and a total going over on a free medical checkup. If you can't get there they will fly you there and back for Free, Honestly. See the last post above. This is a great website where you can type in the meds you might be on and see if there is an interaction with any other meds your taking as well. It's a great site to keep handy with kids and adults in the house.

http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/Home

If you ever need help in the middle of the night with a medical issue this site it great. You can get info from a live DR. online at no cost.

http://www.freemd.com/

This site is ment to save you money on your food bill. I hope they are in your area. If not talk to the churches because they run it. I have to pass on this site as well because trust me after you see the prices of the food most of it is cheaper than the stores.
