I just got my tickets for what looks to be my last race of the year...I'm going to The Monster! Anyway, since I've never been there I was hoping to hit up all my friends who may have been there before for any advice to help me and my Checkered Flag Stilettos make the most of our day at that track. Thanks!
Ping Pong, dancing with twirling ribbons, SOLO synchronized swimming.....if these things can somehow be considered sports, why is there no auto racing at the olympics? (And yes, I've seen Tony Stewart....he's in no worse shape than some of their shot putters). I'm thinking some sort of biathalon....a little shooting, a few laps around the oval, we would SO dominate that event
We just got back from the big caution at the Brickyard and it was even worse than it looked on T.V. I'm pretty sure that the pace car got five points for leading the most laps. I heard that the rubber just wasn't sticking, but that's not entirely accurate. It sure stuck like anything to everyone in the crowd. We were sitting 25 rows up and I fully expect to be washing little bits of rubber off of me for days if not weeks to come. Even the spotters were getting coated in rubber dust.
This was my first ever trip to the Brickyard...I guess if you're gonna see a screwed up race, it might as well be the most phenomanally screwed up race in the history of the track. (I don't even want to think about how much money we spent this weekend to watch cars drive by at 70mph.....I could've gone to my local tollway rest stop and done that for free.) Was it really as awful as it felt to me, or did all that time watching cars circle SLOWLY in front of me in the blazing sun bake my brains? I feel like Indy owes all of us fans that showed up some kind compensation, be it a partial refund or a discount the next time they actually race. Any chance of that happening, and what seems fair to all of you?
09/05/2008 where did you get that indy tire? I would love to get my hands on one of those even if noy JJ's. :)
