With 4 guys in the Top 10, I knew I could make up some ground on you...just not enough ground! I did come from behind in my "pay to play" league to win the 2nd segment by a mere 22 points...That's another $75, thank you very much.
Yeah, I think that's about as smiley as Mike Helton gets.
Yes, barring some unthinkable collapse (not wishing one on you) you can have an AJ autograph as your prize. Let me know if otherwise. You can email me later on where to mail it. Thanks so much for playing!
Thanks, X. You do such a better job of articulating this stuff than I do.
Has Fay taken a toll on you guys?
I'm taking KB's lead with Mr. Ed. However, if we went down the Beaver path, Joe Gibbs as Ward, maybe Smoke or Michael Waltrip as Lumpy. Kurt as Wally (of course) and starring Kyle Busch ... as the Beaver!
Thanks X... the Lost Mr. Ed Episodes are gonna be fun to play with during the coming chase.
Hey--Just wanted to check in now that Fay has finally finished with you guys. All the patio furniture intact? From what I hear in the news you may need to reclaim it from the alligators and snakes that have dropped by for a visit!
Hey, as a Clemson alum, I have to hate Miami.. of course I don't hate them as much as I hate South Carolina and FSU. :-)
That conspiracy blog is nuts! LOL! In fact it's kind of scary to think that there are people out there that really believe that stuff ... my Carl comment was tongue in cheek, but I thought that might show how ridiculous his whole idea was :)
You, my man, are crushing it on Stockcar Challenge. I'm guessing that as your prize (you get to pick a signed driver photo from my stash if you win Segment 2) you'll be wanting Kyle Busch, right?
You are more than welcome, as I said I really enjoy reading them. You add a lot of great insight into the world of Nascar here on Rowdy!
The difference between me and you...I almost pull the trigger on the top 4 Roush cars for my picks and you actually do it...had Junior finished where he raced most of the day, I would have a solid mid-700 score.
I commented on that Southern 500 blog - not the one you wrote but someone else. I liked your idea of comparing eras. Tangent --> Have you ever read "Baseball Between the Numbers" by the Baseball Prospectus guys??? It's a good read!
809 Fantasy Points! You are a rock star...white flag waving!
Hi im just dropping by to say hi :)
-Andrea
Thank you for helping to make ML187's 6th birthday extra special! : ) P.S. ML187 is a Jeff Gordon fan...but I'll root for Rowdy Busch ; )
...but this is a NASCAR site isn't it. Thank you for the balanced perspective comment. That is something that isn't always easy, but something I try hard for in pretty much everything I do. If I can get a point across in a non-biased way then I feel like I've done something right.
Oh yeah, my 5 year old daughter started school yesterday. She brought home her 1st assignment...a bear that she had colored Orange & Green!
You went to WHAT with WHO?!?!?! That's incredible. He's the coach I've been looking forward to for years, but figured he's need to get a stint somewhere else for experience. Now it's baptism by fire...I've got faith, especially with the recruiting he's done...
What's THAT mean? Glasses are hardly a defining characteristic. Funny.
X - I was just coming over here to make sure you knew I had my tongue in my cheek when I wrote that. :-) Loved your latest Diandra blog. I have been keeping up too. I heard she is releasing an updated version of her book in Jan 09...in paperback with more about yaw and GEM goings-on. Yes. Carl is the man!
The Gatorade sponsorship is fascinating... I wonder where they'll go with it... fulltime? Or a one and done? If it's a one and done, what a way to maximize their advertising dollar!
Any thoughts on the car number?
Thanks! I was just catching up on your wrap-up! Great blog!
Yeah, Jeff and Jimmy may want to try a different approach; running up front and winning would help, talking about someone else stumbling isn't going to do it; the kid is focused on winning and Gibbs is giving him everything he needs to get it done. Impressive!
Thanks, Racer X for all the good weather wishes that kept our day dry. If it had rained, we would have missed so much.
Did I read that you are a Miami Dolphins fan? If so, I knew there was something I liked about you. I am a lifelong (40 years) fins fan. What did you think of the Taylor trade to the Skins?
Racer, check out this article from ESPN. It's basically what we've talked about this past week. Looks like Jeff and Jimmy are playing some mind games with young Kyle.
Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/rpm/nascar/cup/columns/story?columnist=blount_terry&id=3527299
It's easier to pronounce then you would think. It's pronounced Rez-snow-icky.
Not sure Kyle will lose it but I think we're starting to see the pressure mounting; that's sports and why we love it, right? Regarding the Dinger, had him on my team but this past week; Hamlin killed my chances of having a great score. Oh well, I hanging in there...
Don't drop the Dinger! He's a road racing fool.
You're right, Racer is not a fan of 'Rowdy' Busch, but it is only a matter of time (years?) before he'll change his tune! Still, Kyle is not my only driver, I am definitely playing the field as it were right now... ; )
I agree Racer X, I was there. I actually got to pay money to sit and watch that. I cannot believe the way the race went down. Unbelievable!
I bought into the Mark Martin hype AND if Smoke would have posted a better finish, I would have crushed it. Oh well, I'm typically not very good at picking drivers so I'll enjoy it as long as it continues...
No,no, it's a tricycle, and Kyle would lap the field,lol.. I tell all the Kyle haters that,lol.. that kid has major talent! Yeah, after wild Bill went over 200mph, restrictor plates were re-introduced.
BTW - Here's another website/blog you might enjoy, if you don't already. Diandra is the bomb!!! http://stockcarscience.com/blog/
Yep. I call him "The Other Matt." My favorite NASCAR SOB...haha. Really, I do love his NASCAR words...but man, is he jaded. He was fired at RacingOne a few years ago when Brian took over...went on hiatus and is now at frontstretch. Here's a link to his staff page (I frequently comment): http://www.frontstretch.com/staffinfo/7087/
Thanks for the nice blog about Carl. :)
Racer - Don already posted that Cat Fight video so I deleted mine. I think he called it Video #1? You might want to comment on that one - I didn't think we needed 2 of the same on the website. Man, I am out of sorts tonight...a real posting fool, if you will.
Thanks for the wishes of good luck. I'll be posting sometime this weekend, but for now you can go over to my friend Stefan Vaapa's Tube Channel:
http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=formulasaab
He has some good incar, check out the bird incident.
Yeah well, I felt like a dumby after I did it because apparently I was the only one who caught it. Or, the only one dumb enough to say something about it.
I forgot to talk about the fantasy stuff. In the Rowdy one, I'm playing for fun. My picks are also linked to another group where I'm third overall for the season...cost $72 to get in, up $105 at this point. Not bad...
I do think Kyle's run is starting to intimidate the other guys. It's like you mentioned in another blog, when a guy gets on this kind of roll, everyone starts questioning their setups, pit strategy, driving, etc. Call it what you will, Kyle's in all of the other drivers' heads...
I wrote a blog...what do you think about it?
Hey thanks for the welcome! I am staying as safe as possible and can't wait to get home. These jets are always flying! We are definately keeping busy!! Hope you have a great Race weekend!
Hey thanks for the welcome! I am staying as safe as possible and can't wait to get home. These jets are always flying! We are definately keeping busy!! Hope you have a great Race weekend!
Thanks for the awesome comments on my 4th of July blog. As a history teacher and a Patriot I loved reading them again. Enjoy!
As alwasy, I look forward to your next X-files : )
Thanks for the friend invite! Nothing personal but I hope your buddy don't win AGAIN this weekend. Time for someone else to shine. You know who I'm gonna be rootin for!!!!!! Go Junior!!!! Ha!
Thanks for the shout Racer X. Just over all of all those Jr haters out there, guess you know the feelin being a Kyle Busch fan and all. Ha!
I forgot to thank you for bashing Jr. prior to Michigan. Any chance you can open a can of whoop @$$ on Stewart, Sadler or Jeff Burton for this weekend?
The boys wholeheartedly approve!!! : )
Wow, I like this switch, X! Very handsome ; )
A little different look today?
You CAN'T change your avatar...my boys would be crushed! You are their favorite on Rowdy!!
Oi, the ego just doesn't stop, does it? Best to move on, I think.
OK, couldn't help it - had to jump in. Not so much to defend anyone as to just point out the discrepancies.
Oh no, I'm not giving this thing up! I've only read a couple of pages and have already learned some things! Call me an 'idiot' if you must, but educating oneself is never a bad thing!!
Read your latest comments on Jazzy's blog - eloquent again. I respect your views and you. Glad you are here on Rowdy : )
Finally saw your replies to Jaz... I think you did an admirable job. I, too, have enjoyed discussing matters in the proper forum but despise the twisted arguments, out-of-context quotes and general bashing. Thanks for the show of intelligence.
Ah- the foot! It's a picture on the wall behind me. It was taken on the night I literally bumped into Tony Stewart, so I thought it was a good picture to put up.
2nd bandwagoner to the left dropping by to say Hi. I don't know how you manage to come back with such intelligent, thoughtful arguments when he just hits you with cliches- but I appreciate it... :)
It's too bad he missed my play on words, inciteful vs insightful. You would think someone who makes his living in the media would have a better grasp on the language.
Can I jump on Chief's band wagon of adoration? I was getting ready to start typing- until I scrolled down and kept reading. Thanks Racer- you lowered my blood pressure considerably!
Chalk up your eloquent, heartfelt, and dignified response to JazJerk's blog another of the myriad reasons I adore you!!!
That would be pink beer from the Mai-Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Wakiki beach in Hawaii. The ocean is literally 15 feet from my back in that photo. If you can make it over there, I highly recommend spending an hour or 4. They have bowls of fresh pineapple instead of peanuts or pretzels...how awesome is that!
I'm not sure how y'all feel about Wal*Mart, but that is where my mom found this DVD. Happy Hunting : )
Racer X, my mother came up from Fl with my dad bearing gifts for our boys. The most popular by far? The Collector's Edition Speed Racer video compilation of the old series. The boys cannot get enough of it! ML187 is entranced by Racer X. Of course I told him about you and he thinks you have the coolest avatar/persona in the world! Racer 187 told me who Racer X was in the series - I was floored! Anyway, I just thought you needed to know all of this : )
According to Race Car Engineering, they do use full size cars, the Indy cars reach about 130-150 and the cup cars about 100-120 depending on the engine packages and rear gear.
You Bud comparison does sound interesting. Will do that at the end of this year. Are you related to the 187's?
I like your blogs...and you...a lot.
We are writing a paper on sponsor television time during NASCAR races right now. I'll send you a link to the paper with data tables when it is at the working paper phase if you would like.
Boot, of course. I'll go check out your blog right now.
Busch has to be the story for 2008. The only "non tragic" things I can see that could overtake that would be a 2 or 3 win Jr. move that puts him closer to contention or if Lagano puts up a win or 2 in Cup. It will not only take a solid story, but a "media darling" doing it.
The new asphalt in 3 is VERY smooth, but it's real narrow. The grip difference is huge, but the transition from is so good, the grip level is the only thing that changes. The camera mike was set on default, but it has a "less-sensitive" setting for use in higher vibration situations. I found that in the manual at the end of the weekend. I'll try again next week at the Glen. This time I'll try and leave the in-car audio in alone.
I just read a "Dan and Dave" reference in 2008. Awesome!!!
I wasn't dissin' the microbrews, just the "organic" junk that's out there. I'm always picking up microbrewed beers at our local liquor store. It's like exploring the world through beer while I'm sitting on my couch.
LOL!!! No doubt! I'll send you boys a case! :)
Thank you for all of your kind words on my latest blog : ) We would adore meeting you and the 'littles Xs' at Lime Rock or ANYWHERE one day! And thank you for requesting race recaps of all kinds from our family : )
Thanks for all your insight on my Beer Wars blog! I loved it, no apologies...isn't it great how people get so fired up over their brews? My personal favorites are Spotted Cow and Hoegaarden. :)
Thanks much for your wonderful blog comment.
I wasnt talking cosworth. Boss 302 won the 1970 trans am, Ford won alot of Trans am titles in 80's-90's and the 289 powered gt40's and shelby cobras did quite well at lemans, sebring, and others in the 60's as did the 427 powered versions. Those cosworth engines were bad mothers though...
X ---The driver challenege rough draft is in your inbox. Email it back with changes.
Yo X, check the inbox...again.
In case you're scoring at home... Zach and I are including the truck race wins for our hygiene "lucky dog." However, we can only turn the underpants inside out.
You're half of the Big 4!
Btw, we went to McDs and scored the Speed Racer toys this weekend. ML187 got "Racer X" and I thought of YOU!!! : ) Then Kyle won on Sat. night and I thought of you AGAIN! Hope you had a great weekend!
Time will heal. Love your cat's name.
Definitely the funniest! Yeah...Mr. "Calm, Cool, Collected" is pretty much just Mr. "Collected" this year. Darn.
The kitty cat's name made my day! Thanks!
I wanted to let you know I checked on the moderator thing and it's in the works and close to happening. Thanks for your patience

Thanks. Boy it's hard to spend almost 20 years with an animal and lose them. It's a lot of years of unconditional love!
Racer X, I can't thank you enough for reading and commenting on my latest blog. Your compliments are so appreciated and I always look forward to reading your thoughts on my topics. Until we chat again...
You are far too kind, but I thank you (blushing). I still enjoy coming up with what I hope will be questions that will ignite the Rowdizens (the serious ones) to respond...passionately.
Thank you for responding to my latest blog. I always enjoy reading your take on my topics ; )
LOL the Shrub Club....That is awesome. Holy cow I about fell out of my chair at that one.
I think you and I are on the same page about the "children" that seem to have popped up around here. I just received a double "insult". I was called a "jug head" and I was told that I "suck". That kind of thing will get all of us sent to the Principals office. What has happened to the youth of today that they can't form an intelligent arguement?
Hey X. No problem sir on the KB deal. Rowdy is a really lonely place for his fan(s)? As of the mid to end point of last season, I don't think I knew of one other person who had him listed as their favorite and/or regularly contributed positively about him. At least now, with a few more folks taking notice, I do not have to hide quite so deep in the shadows.
Thanks for writing it! :) Hope you have a Rowdy Speedweeks!
'tona,'tona, 'tona!!! Are you ready? Where have you been? Hope all is well. When time permits give me a shout : )
Not a problem Racer X. I always look forward to your thought provoking "novels". Keep 'em coming!
You mean the Lions were better than someone this season? Haha, that is why I am a Packer fan living in Detroit....I hear ya on that one.
You're probably right about Jack keeping the #6 number. I just am not sold that he will keep that driver/team. Some have even said it will be Biffle. McMurray would be my personal preference, but Jack hasn't asked. Thanks for the comments...hoped you liked the Chili Bowl blog I wrote in reply to your question.
Hi Racer! Thank you for your comments and predictions on my latest blog. I enjoyed reading your thoughts. Racer 187 and I feel Tony will win the Cup. He even thinks Tony will win the Daytona 500. My crystal ball hasn't revealed THAT to me yet ; ) I received your email and will reply when I have a bit more time to devote to it - it deserves a full answer!
I read SpeedChannel's blog about the B-J Auto Auction and Rowdy's involvement. I loved your use of 'Rowdy 187' as your example. We are invading your thoughts now! ; )
Thank you for weighing in on the Ageism blog. I enjoyed your perspective. As a teacher I might equate that to those in my profession who hold onto their jobs with tenure, whether they still deserve them or not. Thanks for the insight!
Happy New Year! With the dawn of the 2008 Season, what are you most excited about?
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a ROWDY New Year!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! : )
Hi Racer X, thank you for stopping by my site and leaving a comment on my latest blog. I enjoyed reading what you had to say. Still, I know we are watching the race on Sunday at our home - wonder who will win?!
Finally, someone else who knows who Johnny Rumley is.
Loved your comments on the "ferener" blog. I couldn't agree more. Very well articulated.
Welcome racer X. Hope you like the show.
You Rock>>Therefore You Rowdy!
Welcome to Rowdy from a fellow Junior fan!
Welcome is the cat fat too or just the dog?
Welcome to Rowdy.com! Glad you have taken the plunge.
