I really think the 2008 season was a statistical anomaly as far as qualifying being rained out. I've been a NASCAR fan for years and this topic is rarely debated - the only reason it was an issue this year is because of the top 35 and the number of races rained out. I don't see either being as big an issue going forward. (This is not to say that I'd be against changes to the current system, only that I think the issue is likely to fade again as it happens less and fewer cars are on the GOGH list).
