Creamed from the Rear and everything else

So was it me or does Jamie McMurry need to go back to the Petty stockcar driving school??? Nothing like running your own race and have someone plow you into tomorrow for not noticing you are pitting.

And then you have the Kyle Bush issue where he pushes one of our openwheel drivers to think that now that he has fenders that he can give a payback. I had to laugh at the interviews where one driver said point blank that he did it and the other gave the politically correct answer of. was not sure what was up. HAHA

It was a good race, and you could sure see that disappointment in Tony's face in his interview. As he said, they have everything in place except for the luck part of it.

I am looking forward to Daytona,

Happy Monday after Thanksgiving break.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving day, with all the family and great food. I know I wil have to do extra workouts to get rid of the extra that was consumed.

I was wanting to see if anyone in the Rowdy Nation had heard anything about the BUSCH (you know that old named series) of changing their cars to a different style then the cup style. I had been told they were considering going to Mustangs, Cameros and such. Has anyone else heard this?
It was said that this was being done to keep the cup guys out of it as there would not be any learning curve with the difference of cars. It just seems hard to beleive that the big powers to be would make this type of change.
I also thought this was already done in the IROC series, but not with the mulitple manufactures.

Let me know if anyone else has heard of this possible change. It just seems a bit far fetched of a change to be reality. But then again, I would not have thought we would have identical cars, no bad language, or bumping in NASCAR and see where we are today. haha.

Have a great week and just keep remembering that the Christmas break is not that far away.

EPSN Announcers

Does anyone have a problem with Rusty W. doing the announcing? It is almost like fingernails being dragged across the blackboard. I did not realize how much I liked Benny and Darryl in their announcing jobs. The other sad part is it seems like Rusty is trying to relive his time in the 2 car now that it is doing better. I really could not stand him much when he was a driver, but now having to listen to him for 3 hrs trying to figure out what car he is talking about it killing me.
I have considered muting the TV and listening to MRN, (or is it PRN now?) so that I can enjoy both the visual and audio racing experience. haha.

I wish that Allen Bestwick would take his spot in the lap-by-lap reporting and put Rusty down on pit road.

I had hoped for more from ESPN then what I have seen. I hope they step it up a bit and get the bar where it needs to be, or they will lose it again.

Bristol Racing if that is what you can call it

I don't know about all of you, but Saturday night's race seemed like they have created a 1/2 Michigan track. 3 wide racing is possible and was done, but I miss the old racing where you had to have a car that can run on the bottom, the 2x4 braced bumpers, and the chrome horn that was used to move people out of the way. Heck, Bristol was the only track really left that NASCAR could not penalize a driver for rough driving, as they would have the entire field held on pit road. That does not seem to be the case now. I hope that the drivers get back to the old school methods and starts letting their bumpers do the talking. Heck, NASCAR gave them the perfect car for the old Bristol type races, bumpers at the same height, a car that can take punishment, and then they make the track so that they don't use them. :((

I must be to old school here. I want the old tracks that were tough to drive, the races that the driver controlled what happened, not the officials. Just ask Kyle Busch on that one, based from the Friday race. Another blown call, which could of really cost him the race. And keep in mind, he could of also gotten fined for the type of language used on the radio, and any comments that he might if had after the race, all from a blown call by NASCAR.

I am sure that I am not with the majority on how the race was at Bristol, but to me it was not real exciting and I am glad I did not buy the tickets to go see it. Lets hope that we have some great races in the rest of this season.

Michigan weekend at the RaceTrack (Swimming Pool)

I hope all had a great weekend at Michigan, even with the rain. I am sure it gave Bass plenty of time to get interviews and gossip on all the latest happenings.

This was our first weekend of camping up at the track, and BOY what a weekend to be camping. We were in the Juniper Hill campgrounds, right next to Karaoke Fred and The Palm Tree Cafe, so it was a great spot. We already have it scheduled for next year. Hopefully, we will get to see 2 races and it is a bit nicer in the weather department, but all had a good time.

Now it is on to Bristol and the rip the fenders off the car racing. It will be interesting to see how this race will upset the point’s standings for the top 15 drivers.

I have to say it was a highlight to the weekend – week to see Jeff Gordon spin and get stuck in the mud, even if I had to see it on TV. Yea yea, I know that Dale Jr, will be a team mate next year, but that leaves all this year to cheer them sacred events. Well it is time to start work so have a good Rowdy week!!!!

Jr's Announcement and its effects

Well it has happened. Jr driving for the other side. Hendricks motor sports. It is good that he is not in this state of homelessness, and has plans for the next 5 yrs. But as a Earnhardt fan, both Sr and Jr, it is hard to hear that this deal has happened.

One of the greatest anticipated joys of a race, whether at a track or on TV is to see Dale bump either the 24 or 48 car entering a turn, getting them loose and they slide up and put them rainbow colors all over the walls of the facility. Now that they are team mates, that anticipated enjoyment is no longer there. We only have the hope that either Harvick or Smoke will do the dirty deed for us, or as a long shot, that Robby Gordon gets lapped in 50 or so laps so that he is at the front of the pack, where he can causes a wreck that would do the deed. All just funning here...

It will be interesting to see how all this pans out and what sponsor and crew chief is when Daytona hits next year. All I know is that it is going to be a long michigan weekend as I go up with a Jeff Gordon fan and one that kinda likes Jimmy.

Happy racing and watch the Jr merchandise become dirt cheap at all the races.

Tell your one favorite racing experience

Hey there everyone, after seeing a post that Lisa had on naming your 3 favorite tracks, I was sitting here thinking of some of my favorite times at the tracks that I have been to. I just wanted to share a couple of them and see what yours were. Lets share our favorite experiences with each other.

My favorite experiences were a garage pass at MIS where I was able to have a discussion with both Dale Sr and Dale Jr together, even is it was for only 5 min, but it was the kewlest time of my life.

The second was the first sight of seeing Bristle and how high the banking is. I can remember sitting in turn 1 and seeing right through his car as he was on a kewl down lap. Also got to hear him on radio when his car was not the greatest. Larry Mac sure got an ear full.

Those are mine.. what are yours???

Pricing question

I have a 1:24 scale RC car that is the old Haviline car that Davey Allison drove. The car has never been out of the box, which is in great condition also. I have tried to find it in any of the beckett books but have not found it yet.

There was an Earnhardt car also, but the guy that I get it from did not like Dale and destroyed the car. :(

Any help would be great.

DEI Dominate Win

Well now, After the Dover race and Dale Jr's announcement of departure, DEI shows the public, other drivers, and JR that things might not be a out-of-alignment as first indicated. Truex Jr had a car that was totally dominate and was driving circles around everyone else, while keeping the tires on the car. If I were to rate the performance of the two Jr's at DEI over this year, Truex would have it hands down. (and I am a Huge Earnhardt fan)

The fact is when you look at the most consistent performer and strength of a car over the course of a race, Truex seems to keep his car more stable, where Jr seems to get it good or start out good and then lose the handling somewhere in the race. I hope this is a sign that DEI is here for the long haul and will be a competitive group.

As for Dale Jr, I have been trying to keep up on all the different rumors out there, but with all the different possibilities and Toyota working to get teams to join their brand, there seems to be no certainties in any of NASCAR right now. Gibbs is to possibly jump to Toyota, which should rule them out of the choice game, but that is not certain. Ginn racing has an opening and will accept the BUD sponsorship, which is hard to get a long-term commitment for primary sponsors. I would think that would be a hard one to turn down as an owner. Then there is the RCR group, which says no talks have been going on, but also has comments that say no directions have been finalized with Jr, so which is right? (Throwing hands up here and just waiting till it is posted on Rowdy and he is in a different fire suit.) Then I will believe it is real and happening

I just know one thing for sure. The decision that Jr makes, and how he handles everything from the disclosure of what he is going to do, along with how he handles the sponsorship transition, will either build him in fan loyalty or hurt him. The later would be if he were just out for himself, burning bridges with the things that have gotten him to where he is at today. I feel that he is a good businessman, and has learnt from what his father had done in the past, but he is still young in this sport, so it will be interesting to see how it all works out.

Just some more random thoughts of what is in this head after a race weekend. Will be at the Michigan races, and hope to meet up with other Rowdy fans out there.

DEI and their chances

I have not seen anything on this yet as all the chat has been on what JR is going to do and where he is going to land. I was wondering what your thoughts were on who would fill the seat (S) that are going to be open at DEI. This could be a great oppertunity for one of the drivers that is barely hanging on as is.

It might be a wise move for Mickey W. to at least get back into a race. NAPA might stay with him if he is in equipment that will make it.

Just makes one wonder if DEI will look at someone that is already in the big leagues or will go outside and bring up a new driver from one of the other ranks.

I also an getting tired of the Hendricks show that is every weekend. Why is it that Jeff's car is the only one out there that can run half the race with steam shooting out of it and never blow up. Is there a radiator additive that is being used without anyone knowing it.. (haha joking). I give them credit for the hard work that they are putting into their program, but is it getting harder to keep the channel tuned at the end of the race when it is the Hendrick show.

Just some random thoughts after another race weekend
