Despite reports putting Joey Logano in the 02 car for Joe Gibbs Racing this weekend, a source with direct knowledge of the situation tells Rowdy that Joey will in fact pilot the 96 car as originally planned this weekend in the Sylvania 300. Home Depot, Logano's 2009 sponsor, will be the primary sponsor on the car replacing the 96's usual primary, DLP, which will assume an associate role for the race.
Questions about which car Logano would drive in the Granite State arose after qualifying at Richmond was rained out, depriving the young phenom of the chance to make his Cup debut for Gibbs in a Home Depot car. Home Depot, according to the reports, was anxious for Logano's first Cup start to come in their car.

Since Logano couldn't race in Richmond, is there any chance that he'll race in Dover? I didn't think he was originally scheduled to race there since they wanted to keep his rookie status for next year. Now that he missed a race because of the weather, I'm wondering if we'll see the 02 at the Monster.
It just aint right. No matter if it's the 02 car or the 96, there should only be ONE Home Depot car on the track, #20 The JGR web site shows an 02 car with orange on white. Will this be the paint on the 96 come the weekend?
It just aint right I tell ya.
NYSS
On account of the rainout of qualifying, putting Joey in the 96 for New Hampshire turned out to be a very wise move.
I am just disgusted with this whole team. From the beginning of the year- all we've heard is, Tyler Epp whine about monies. You can't run a race team on a Shoe string Budget, its not BASEBALL. They had the people to run a great team. They needed to add people, not take away.
They have quite possibly destroyed JJ Yeleys career in Cup, and he was not the problem. They destroyed Brads year in his Nationwide ride where he was gaining experience. For what? So that they could get some publicity with Joey Driving their car- (Woops thats not their car is it! Its the 02) So they can gain some knowledge or a look at a real JGR car? (Woops, those were all JGR workers surrounding the car this weekend).
So Joey gets in the race and the owners get to have their pictures taken once again or sit on the pit box (Which seems like the only thing they know how to do). Whoopie DOO! They need to leave the sport-
They've wrecked the very people who cared about them. The ones that truly wanted them to succeed and cared. JJ and Brad, Brandon Thomas and the other team members they fired. Hall of Shame Racing or Hall of Sham racing would be a more fitting title these days.
