...of PPI is about to be auctioned off five minutes from my house. This is why Nascar needs to do something to help the smaller teams. Cal Wells worked extremely hard for six years so he could do what? Auction off his shop at probably rock-bottom prices. This same thing has happened to Andy Petree (who went to my school in Newton, NC along with Dale Jarrett and Dr. Jerry Punch), who lost his team after his sponsors left. Same with Junie Dunleavy, a cornerstone for so long just ripped away like trash. Melling Motorsprts suffered the same fate, after having several championships. Travis Carter (whom I know) worked with the best, and now after being out of the sport and renting his shops to Peak Racing and Clay Andrews Racing (both of which are gone) is a co-owner of a solitary Busch team, the 14 of Kyle Krisiloff. If the proposed Chrysler slae could render Evernham Motorsports into oblivion, possibly bringing BAM with it. Is Nascar just supposed to sit down and watch the former champions and competitiors file for bankruptcy? Is that how a corporate body treats it's clients? If only we were able to bring costs down so there wouldnt be a need for sponsors. I hope Nascar takes note of this soon. Otherwise it will be Roush vs. Hendrick vs. Gibbs vs. RCR vs. nobody before we know it.
