Jayski is reporting that if Office Depot can't dish up a contract that will satisfy Roush, then UPS is the front runner to take their spot and sponsor Carl Edwards and the #99 Ford. I think this would be a great thing to happen. I'd hate it for Reutimann, but UPS NEEDS a superstart driver to compete with Fed Ex having Denny Hamlin and Gibbs. Edwards is a great ambassador with the Office supply company and he has a personality that would be very popular to a business, fast-paced company like UPS.
UPS signed with Jarrett when he was kicking butt and Carl will still look good in white and brown, I'm sure of that! Also, I just think it would be cool to see Ford/UPS vs. Toyota/Fed Ex
...yeah, that is a great fit on every level. Imagine the commercial where he does a double or triple back flip off the top of the big brown truck :)
I feel for Reutmann but I doubt they leave. I like Cral and office depot seems cool. Prolly going to the 31
I read they are going to dump the "truck" ad campaign. It would/will be interesting to see what campaign they come up with. As an Edwards fan, the whole "Brown" thing isn't nearly as cool as Red though. If for some reason Office Depot manages to hang on, look for them to go to Burton. Reutimann just doesn't have the "star" power. MWR may be in a world of hurt for sponsors when all is said and done.
I did a part time job at UPS during last Christmas and it was the worst experience of my life. Don't even ask. I wouldn't care if I never saw that logo again as long as I live.
