As we approach Rowdy member #10,000, I feel that it is time to step down from the self appointed post of greeting each and every Rowdy member. I myself joined Rowdy to be part of a racing community and share in the fun of the sport. In the beginning as 3-10 new members a day joined, I was able to participate in the socialization and share my racing views with "the Nation". In the last two months, we have grown from around 2300 members to as I write now 9937 members. Any attempt to do anything other than greet newbies has been nearly impossible. It is now common to welcome over 200 new members each day. By 1:00 PM tomorrow (Tax Day) we will hit our 10,000th member. This is truly a milestone!
I was honored with the trip of a lifetime for my 20th anniversary as my wife got me tickets to Bristol. I smile as I laugh at the notion that those tickets only represented one tenth of the cost of the trip! I took it in stride and we had an incredible time. I took many pictures and still have yet to post those pictures.
I am truly privileged to be blessed with so many Rowdy friends and I can't wait to re-enter the community as a participant rather than a sole greeter of the masses.
Congratulations to Buck, Bass, Cutler, Rusty, the Perf, Randi, James, Cindy and of course Linda B. You have created a destination place and all of your hard work and determination is very much appreciated! To Mark, Rick, Tyler, Jayski, Poolie, Steve, Dennis, Barry and Sonny, you offer a unique perspective to the vast world of NASCAR racing we all love.
Please keep this utopia we call Rowdy rolling and always remember...
"You Rock>>Therefore You ROWDY!!!"
Cal you are one of the reason Rowdy is the place to be, I am glad that you welcomed me here, and I am sure others are too. Thanks for being ROWDY!
Cal, I too want to thank you for welcoming me. It was pretty cool to join and immediately be embraced.
Cal, YOU rock>>Therefore YOU Rowdy!!!
Cal,
If anybody rock's it is the blazing one. Thank you for all you have done to help us reach this imminent milestone.
Cal is the man. We can pick it up where you leave it my friend. You have done an awesome job!!!!!!!!!
Cal...you ARE the man! I couldn't hold a candle to you. I have tapered off quite a bit, I am much more selective in my welcoming now. If folks take time to write something in their profile, I will welcome them. Anyone else is on a random basis. I just haven't had the time lately. Keep it Rowdy my friend! Thanks for your dedication!
Thank you for always making this site the 'nicest place in cyberspace'!
Are the Rowdy Boys getting you a watch (or at least a t-shirt) for your loyal contributions to this website?!
Thanks Cal. You've done a fantastic job. I knew I had joined a good community when I received your welcome. I look forward to seeing you blogging and posting photos again. You deserve to be Most Rowdy of the year!!!
Cal, You may be 1 in 10,000 on the site, but I think you are 1 in a million. Your greeting members has been beyond amazing and you set the standard for what Rowdy is about and why Rowdy is the place to be. Great, great job.....
Cal you have done an awesome job over the past couple months welcoming the newbies. I don't blame you for retireing! At the rate Rowdy is growing, you'd have to quit your day job to keep up with all the Shout Box post! :) I'm sure your warm welcome wishes definitely helped make the new members feel a part of the group!!
What are you going to do with all your free time now? :)
Cal, Glad I was one of the fortunate ones to be welcomed by you. You did a great job! Look forward to your future participation as part of our Rowdy Nation.
