Every now and then a Barney Fife would hassle us because we did not have the proper pass and when we would complain to the powers that be we were quickly informed of the time that Richard Petty and Buddy Baker were not allowed to enter Martinsville because they didn't have the proper pass.
Of all people ...young Kasey. Can you imagine what Smoke would have done. That Guard would be weeping.
I get enforcing the rules but shouldn't the guard have used a little discretion? After all, Kasey is only one of the most recognizeable figures in the sport today and anybody who really follows the sport would likely recognize his brother as well...after all, his brother is or was on his pit crew. How silly was it that it escalated so badly that they threw cuffs on Kasey? Embarrassing.
I've had credentials for 30 years and there always seems to be a Barney Fife out there... Little men with badges... Argh!!!
