The view from up here...

It took me 3 rounds but I've finally reached the pinnacle of the Rowdy World. I'm of course talking about the Drivers Zone game. I stand atop your ranks (as my good friend, The Professor, would say) in first place with 6 points...that's right people I only missed one pick. Now if you could all stop playing for the rest of the season........well, it was worth a shot. I should be up to #187 by next week...but it feels so good to be "on top of your leader board"!!

A Champion does what he has to...

As a Busch fan, let me acknowledge that Kyle bumping Carl after the checkered flag was uncool....but, let it be known: Carl has laid down the challange, "If you want the championship, you've got to be willing to do WHATEVER it takes" I, for one, don't want to hear other drivers fans whining when they get the same treatment from Kyle or Carl from this point forward. Let the Chase begin!!!

Bear WINS!!!

Ok, this is a bit self serving but I can't contain myself. The Super Late Model car that I help crew for won on Saturday night here at the Bullring in Las Vegas (the track that the Busch brothers raced on as kids). The driver, Bear Rzesnowiecky, is only 16 years old and this was only his 8th start in a Super late. He's the 2007 track champion in the Legend Car Pro division and the 2007 Rookie of the year in ASA Speedtrucks. He started 5th and led 30 of 33 laps during the second Super late feature of the night (he came in second in the first feature!). Bear has had a great season so far with many lessons learned (not just the driver but the crew, as well) and with only a month left in the season....we hope to continue running up front and winning races.......Maybe next time I'll remember to follow the rest of the crew down on to the track for the victory lane photo (I missed out).

A piece of Victory-lane cake...for me??

I just bought my tickets to the October Cup race at Martinsville!!!! And since it's ON my 40th birthday, I'm really looking forward to this race!! I can't wait to see the fabled "Paper-clip". Every race there is exciting. And who doesn't love good 'ol short track bumpin' and bangin'?

Please deposit your trash in the nearest receptical....

Hasn't anyone at the Michigan race ever heard of a trash can!!! What was the deal with every single car having to have trash removed from the front of thier cars? And it has to be bad if they point it out several times during the broadcast and Larry McReynolds does 2 segments about it with his cut away car. And I really liked that one of the debris cautions was for a Budwiser can!!!!!
It's called a trash can....use it!!!

Superspeedway Vs. Short track

According to NASCAR.com a short track is less than 1 mile, an intermediate track is greater than 1 mile but less than 2 miles, and a Superspeedway is 2 miles or greater. Oddly enough, Dover is listed as a short track. I wonder what The Professor would say to the notion that a track of exactly 1 mile would be listed as a short track and NASCAR's own website lists tracks less than and greater than 1 mile but not EXACTLY 1 mile. Dover appears to be in a class all its own.

...on his 16th Birthday!!

Last night, Bear Rzesnowiecky celebrated his 16th birthday by starting his first Super Late Model race at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The #85 didn't have any sponsor logos but looked sharp with a simple "BEAR" above the door. Bear ran well through out the 35 lap feature and was running in 4th when the leaders tangled and caused a caution right in front of him taking out the 3rd place car with front end damage. With the leaders sent to the back for contact, Bear was sitting pretty out in front with the Green/White/Checkered the only thing between him and the ultimate birthday present.
As Bear came out of the 4th corner for the green flag, a shower of sparks erupted from his right rear and his car spun, colliding with the car next to him. The 2nd place car ended up in the wall in the 1st corner and the caution came out. Turns out Bear's rear trailing arm had sheared off and without it holding his rear suspension to the frame he was at the mercy of the car. So close and yet....
Bear's first concern after getting out of the car was for the other driver and to make sure that he was alright and knew that he was sorry that the wreck had collected him as well. Bear's disappointment was obvious but he'll be in victroy lane before too long.

ATTENTION: NATIONWIDE DRIVERS!!!!

....Keep an eye open as you approach the blend line in Richmond.....Kevin LePage is entered this weekend. "Slow-lane" Kevin could be lurking anywhere near the bottom of the track, waiting to test your cars ability to fly.

Bear Wins!!!

Bear Rzesnowiecky, defending track champ pro division, won last nights 25 lap Legend feature at the Bullring in Las Vegas. Bear had the dominating car, leading the 27 car field from about the 10th lap after qualifying 2nd, but because of the fan popular wheel-of-inversion, had to start 7th. Bear continues to lead the pro division at the Bullring. Look for Bear to continue his winning ways next week and step up his game on May 10th when he steps into a super late model on his 16th birthday.
