Montoya as the new "bad guy"

Bass and I talked via email last week regarding JP having the potential to be Nascar's new "bad guy".

Case in point:

  • Wrecks teammate for win (Busch Mexico race),
  • Aggressive as all get out (Waltrip described his driving as wreckless),
  • He's an outsider coming from a stall of drivers who look down their nose at Nascar, in general,
  • Black car,
  • Accent,
  • Curses,
  • Bristol

Basically, I believe he has the perfect makings for a bad guy, what does the Rowdy nation think?

Nascar needs it.

Stewart's too whiny, R. Gorden lacks the competitiveness, ElderBusch and Harvick may be maturing out of the role, and YoungerBusch is too immature.

I, for one, am pulling for JP to be successful while teeing off a hand-full of people in the process. This only works with drivers with real talent, and I believe he's got that covered.
