#5 paint scheme review
Even though Martin is who I'm pulling for I didn't pick him last week. That's because I just can't fall in love with that #5 paint scheme. I'm trying though...
First, the primary colors do "pop" and stand out, but they also clash - so much so that seeing them with food logos all over them makes me a little queasy. The black spoiler doesn't fit in at all.
I do appreciate the "swoosh" on the side, obviously an attempt add some sort of design structure and make the car not just a pile of disparate logos. Its colors work well together but alongside that screeching yellow - ouch.
The logos all over are no worse than all the other cars, but I am fondest of the CarQuest logo when it's on the hood. The blue PopTarts hood also looks pretty good.
Finally, the 5 number itself is ok, but on the car it comes off kind of limp. It looks like it SHOULD work - a nice sans serif face with a lean to add a feel of speed, but the way it's just slapped on the car robs it of any power.
Again, I may change my mind, but for now, this car gets a C.

The #5 colours should work but that yellow simply does not work with that blue at all, but what is one to expect when attempting to promote auto parts and food on the same vehicle. Whoever came up with that sponsor fit must have had some of what ever Jeremy Mayfield was schmoking :-)

OK, now after a second look I'm depressed. Mark has a wimpy looking car. That paint scheme IS ugly. Even the Viagra car had a better paint scheme. That 5 does need more life. The yellow is too much and the blue is the wrong shade. DO OVER !!!!!!!

They should use Eeyore blue... BTW, I plan do do a crit of the paint schemes each week for the winner of the race. I guess I'll do the runner-up if the same dude wins. It's like art school critiques, only faster and more badass!
