So, the word is as per today's podcast that Stewart/Haas has pulled trademark on the #14. I guess it can be safely assumed Tony will take that number for himself since his hero, A.J. Foyt also ran that number for much of his storied career.
But here's the thing. I find no elegance in running the #70 or #66 along with the #14. It makes no numerical sense. Yeah, #13 is also open, but who wants that as their number?
So here's the question: What will the other Stewart/Haas car number be to go with the #14? I submit that the #4 is open and available, but who knows? How bout it Rowdians....

I agree that the #4 would go nicely with the #14, but I actually think that the #13 would be pretty cool, and there's a lot of merchandising pontential there. (Just ask the folks at Disney about the success of their Villians merchandise). Anyone driving the 13 could position themselves as the outlaw or the rebel (which wouldn't work for Newman, he seems too darn sweet!).
