Thoughts and prayers go out this evening to John Force and his family as John recovers from the injuries sustained today in Texas. What a horrible crash. It could have been so much worse.
If you saw the video of the accident, John Force is not in the part of the car that slid up to the sand at the end of the dragstrip. The car broke apart at the beginning of the accident and the seat was in the part of the car by the large rear wheels. (Looked to me like when Kenny Bernstein hit the cones in the middle of the track, one of them was knocked into Force's lane, which caused the tire to explode.) So Force's legs and arms were exposed when that part of the funny car tumbled across the track and hit the outside wall.
A John Force racing representative said on Wind Tunnel that John has a compound fracture of the left ankle, dislocation and fractures of the left wrist, laceration to the bone in the right knee, fractures in the hand, and probably some other stuff. They are trying to fix everything in the same surgery tonight in Dallas.
I saw the accident, and it was very scary. The car literally broke in half. He has been having a rough year and to have it end like that sucks. I wish him a quick recovery.
John Force is the man.
For those that don't follow NHRA.
John is a 14 time champ in 30 years of racing, thats unreal!
His personality makes Kenny Wallace seem tame.
No joke.
I wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him at the track ASAP.
The crash was HORRIFIC! The car just came/blew apart! It's a miracle that he didn't sustain more serious injuries! Of course prayers for a full recovery ...
We all hope for John Force's speedy recovery from the crash, and get him back to top form for him to enjoy the sport he loves.
