Dover Parking - advice needed

Door

OK, I've was about to ask for tips on going to Dover and found an existing post with a bunch of great advice. However, the one about parking has me a little concerned since I don't know the area that well. Does anyone have any more specific advice on the best place and time to park at Dover. I will be leaving North on 1 or 13 back toward Newark, so where should I look to park for a decent getaway? Thanks for any feedback.

The only thing I can say is park in a business and walk to the track. It helps the getaway immensely!

Q

DO NOT PARK INSIDE THE TRACK ! , YOU WILL BE THERE FOREVER. RIGHT OUTSIDE THE CASINO THERE A BEST BUY THAT IS VERY EASY TO GET OUT, I THINK IT'S 20 BUCKS. EVEN EASIER IS THE PIZZA UNO NEXT TO BEST BUY. THE UNO LOT IS SMALL SO IT TAKES LESS TIME TO GET OUT, BUT I WOULD CALL THEM TO SEE IF THERE ARE SPOTS LEFT.
PIZZARIA UNO - DUPONT HWY. DOVER DEL.

I echo the two previous posts. It's worth the $20 to park outside of the track. It will literally save you hours getting out.

What is the suggested time frame to get to one of these parking lots?
Thanks for the help - We will be attending this race from Ohio.

Word to the wise if you park at an outside lot and take one of the shuttle busses in make sure on the return trip you do not get in the first couple of return lines. They have a tendency to merge together into on huge cluster fudge of people. Walk the couple hundred extra feet and get in one of the further lines. it will save you a whole lotta time.

When I go to Dover in September my brother does the driving. He always parks at the college. We get there around 930 or 10. Get a decent parking spot and it is easy to get out.

This was immensely helpful as my husband and I will be trecking from NYC to Dover this September- we're going to be heading there late Friday night or early Saturday morning - getting to the hotel nearby (we got really lucky and got a room late in the game since someone happened to cancel on them!)
I can't wait as I've only been to the Pocano track so this is a real treat for me.

I was wondering if anyone had any information on handicapped parking at the track and how easy/hard/headache that would be to get out of the areas since my husband is disabled and can't walk very far. We want to get there early Sunday (about 7-8am) and leave to go back to NYC after the race is over.
