Interesting Victory Lane Celebrations

Me_pocono_500

Kerry got me thinking about the different traditions that winners engage in while celebrating at certain tracks and races. For example:

~Drink the Milk and wear a wreath around your neck as if you were a horse that just won the Kentucky Derby - a.k.a. win the Indy 500.

~Do a burn out and Kiss the Bricks - a.k.a. win the Allstate 400

Same Track - different traditions.

If you could create your own tradition for Victory Lane at any given track or series, what would it be?

Celebrate the victory at Infineon with a grape stomp! There are plenty of wineries in this area who could donate a bunch of grapes AND the barrel to stomp in. ( Picture Jeff Gordon & Steve Letart in a barrel together)...

I'd pull a Pete Townshend at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400.

I'd do a flip, climb a fence, burn out against the wall, tear up the grass, throw soda all over my teammates then...oh wait, those are all taken.

For me nothing will ever top Alan Kulwicki's "Polish Victory Lap" in 1986 when he won his first Cup race in Phoenix. It was actually so he could wave to the crowd and let the crowd see the driver, but after the race when asked he replied "Of course I drove the wrong way, I'm Polish."

Alan was the defending Cup champion when he died in a plane crash in 1993. Since then other drivers have driven around the track the wrong way after a win. Every time I see that I think of Alan.
