Linda B and her premonitions...

If you heard this weekend's podcast, I think it's safe to say that we won't be calling up Linda B for our lottery picks...Hey Linda, do you see Junior blowing another engine at Homestead? Please say yes...

Sweet_victory_2

Maybe, just maybe, Jimmie listened to Saturday's show, had his team double-check the engine, found some sort of flaw, and was able to fix it before the race. Ya never know.

Me too Kenny...as I said last week, I never thought I'd be cheering for Jeff Gordon but hoped JJ would have a little trouble on Sunday...

It was the same for me. I was cheering every car he passed on the outside to blow a tire and take Jimmie out.

Maybe Linda B's prediction is kinda like a reverse curse. So I hope she picks JJ to win next week!

Linda B. might have been off by a week.

Let's just wait and see what happens at Homestead...she's no fool, she knows how to make this season (wait, I mean points race between 2 guys out of 12) interesting.

I hope seventeens right. Maybe Linda B. was a week early!

You really want to see Jimmie lose it on random bad luck . . . ???? That would be like the 76 Olympics loss by the US Basketball team!

What I want is for Gordon to have a chance. (did I just say that????) Gordon has had an almost perfect season, and he DESERVES the championship. Plain and simple. Do I want Johnson to do badly just to do badly? No. Would I still enjoy it?......... yyyyyyyyyyeah.

At least I'm not the one cheering for the guy that just does the best BASS! haha What happened to loyalty?

If the system had been set up over the past 20 years to reward the guy with the most wins the championship, we'd be thinking that if anyone but Jimmie won he'd be robbed. The fact is you can't compare the current system to the old one - it's a different system, everyone knew the rules going in and adjusted their strategies to play by them.

Jimmie's streak of the last four races has been unbelievable, and it's hard for me to see how anyone can claim they don't deserve it.

Julie, I agree with you. However, I wish we'd had a closer Chase than this. We had guys eliminated almost before it even began! Oh well. Either one of these guys would make a worthy champion based on what they've done this season.

True true Jason. It was almost a two man chase from week one. The other guys didn't have much of a chance to start with. But with the flawless performance from the 24 and 48 teams, it was impossible.

I think part of the reason why they both scored so many more points this year is because they each knew the other would be their biggest competition.

As for getting the Chase closer...one way that NASCAR could do that would be to eliminate six guys after the first five races and reset the points again. But how much contrivance do you want in your championship system?

I REALLY don't think that would be good. NASCAR would just lose respect if they did that. They need to stick with a points system for a few years, THEN consider changing it. NASCAR needs to gain some credibility.

I don't see how them scoreing so many points is due to them thinking that they knew that they were going head to head. It makes no sence. In the second half of the chase, yes. But the 31 races prior, they were just working on beating everybody, not eachother.
