Oh my gosh...my friend at work just got back from Las Vegas and told me he rode the Avis rental car bus with Kyle Busch...no one else on the bus even recognized him!!
My friend started out the conversation saying, "Do you follow NASCAR...cause you look just like a guy named Kyle Busch?" And Kyle laughed and said he WAS Kyle Busch!! Doesn't Kyle have a private jet?!?!
He said Kyle was on his way to Phoenix to qualify and then he would go back to Vegas for another race...
My friend said Kyle was very friendly and seemed like just an all around nice guy...easy to talk to. When my friend told him Hendrick should've gotten rid of Casey Mears and kept him, Kyle responded by saying, "Yeah, that would have been nice."
He said Kyle went flying off the bus to catch a plane to Phoenix.

Oh and no...I don't think Kyle can win all these races in one weekend. But I bet he wins at least one...

The four wins are possible as long as he doesn't let his brother Kurt drive him to the track in Phoenix.....otherwise this forum topic will change to "Can Kurt Busch get cited for reckless driving in 2 out of the last 3 years?"

Burn the candle at both ends? Heck no! Rowdy's gonna take a BLOW TORCH to that thing!

Kyle is great on flat tracks, so it wouldn't shock me if he took a couple...four is a stretch but anything is possible, right?

They said at one point during the truck race he was complaining about not feeling well... something about flu-like symptoms. He did look a bit paler than usual during the post race interview. Hope he doesn't get any worse, that'd suck.

Has anyone won a truck, Busch, and Cup race in one weekend? I can't think of anyone.

Not sure how he did in that other Saturday race, if he's already ran it...but Sunday's Cup race will be a long shot based on his bad qualifying spot. He'll have a ton of spots to make up. If he isn't fast early, he may get lapped...doesn't look good for the 4-win weekend.

The Vegas stop on the Kyle tour this weekend runs later tonight, @9:30pm. I'll update everyone on the outcome after I get back from it. Go Kyle!!
He's currently leading the (accident prone) Busch race!!

I believe the Super Late Model in Vegas is running tonight, after the Busch race is over. He's gonna be one tired pup tomorrow. Of course, 22 year olds rebound a whole lot faster than the 30+ guys.

Wow, seems young Rowdy is unstoppable. He won over my 2 guys, but I gotta say he did it cleanly... so congratulations Kyle!

If anyone is interested you can catch a live java text feed of the race on racingwest.com. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be any other coverage.

Waiting for a report from Heysi on the Las Vegas late model race which should be underway right about now.

Kyle was making a run to the front and with 34 Laps to go and some wannabe, Shelby Thompson, took Kyle out. How lame.

Oh well...he can still make it three NASCAR races wins in a weekend. Has that ever been done? I doubt it.... Don't like his chance today though. That poor qualifying effort (got loose and out of the groove on the 1st lap) has really put him behind the 8 ball. Hasn't looked super strong in practice either. You never know though...he's won twice already and is great on short/flat tracks.

Las Vegas UPDATE:
Kyle started 25th out of 26 cars. By the halfway point of the race, he had moved up to 6th. With about 40 laps to go, he was in 3rd and challenging for the second spot, which was held by Thompson. He and Kyle went at it for a few laps, each getting a few taps to each other in the corners. With 37 left to go, Kyle passed Thompson on the inside coming out of turn 4. As they passed the start/finsh line Thompson took a left (!) knocking into Kyle's right rear and spinning him (I had a great view of this as I was sitting in the pit stands down in turn 2 and we look right down the front straight-away). Kyle came to a stop right in front of us and he was pissed. He and Thompson lined back up for the restart, with Kyle in second and Thompson right behind him. The officials kept yelling at them over the radios to go to the back but neither would budge. Finally, the officials threw the red flag and had someone go out to the two cars. Thompson claimed his radio wasn't working but would go to the back when Kyle did. Kyle's response to the request to go to the back was (reportedly) "F*** OFF!" They restarted the field under yellow and Kyle left the track and didn't finish the race. About 10 minutes later, we saw his helicopter lift off from the speedway, he did a few "laps" around the track and he flew off. His only concillation was that 2 laps after the restart he didn't stay for, Thompson spun and was knocked out of the race. The real drama started after that, when Thompson's spotter got into it with Kyle's spotter as the 2 were going to leave the pit stands. Security had to seperate them.
So, Unfortunately, Kyle's chance of 4 in one weekend was ruined by some "wannabe".

Two out of four isn't bad, but no, no one has ever won all three in one weekend (that I'm aware of).

I think it should be pointed out that Kyle won the Truck race, won the Busch race, should have won the late model race, and finished 8th in the Cup race. I think the boy deserves a round of applause. 2 out of 4 (with a stab in the back on 1 of those loses) and a top 10 is mighty impressive.

Well put, Heysi! A lot of talent for someone so young. Sure, he's said some things that he probably shouldn't have... but geez... he's 22! (How many 21 and 22 year olds haven't made knucklehead decisions?) A little more maturity, and this guy's gonna be tremendous.
